LG today announced that it's updating its G Pad tablets to Android 5.0 Lollipop, first in South Korea, and then (hopefully soon) in other markets. All of LG's recent slates are included here: G Pad 8.3, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0, and G Pad 10.1.
It's worth mentioning that the G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition (which is no longer available to buy) was updated to Lollipop several months ago.
While the G Pad 8.3 has been around since late 2013, the other three LG tablets are newer, being released in 2014. All are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, have 1 GB of RAM, and 800 x 1280 pixels displays of different sizes (7 inches, 8 inches, and 10.1 inches). As you can see, these are by no means high-end devices.
We assume that LG will bring Lollipop not just to the unlocked variants of its G Pads, but also to the LTE models that are available in the US via various carriers (like Verizon and AT&T).
